Cody Shaffer, M.S.Ed.,NASM CPT/CES/PES/GFS
Cody is a well versed personal trainer and educator. Cody’s work experience and education set him apart from the training norm. Cody has worked as a personal trainer for the past 12 years in a variety of fitness markets. These environments include traditional gyms, studios, sport specific and cardiac rehabilitation. Cody is the owner and operator of Advanced Fitness Consulting. He services clients in the Kansas City area.
Cody obtained his education and training at the University of Kansas where he completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree of Science in Exercise Physiology. Cody is currently working towards an additional Master’s Degree in Health Education at the University of Kansas. For three years at the University of Kansas, Cody worked as a graduate teaching assistant and instructor for the Department of Health, Sport, and Exercise Science. At the University, Cody taught coursework in weight training, physical conditioning, personal and community health, and first aid and safety. As a student Cody was the recipient of the two highest awards in his degree program, including the Brett Hammig Excellence in Exercise Science Award, and the Walter Mikols Outstanding Masters Student Award.
Cody holds all Accredited Certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, which includes Certified Personal Trainer, Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist. He works closely with the National Academy of Sports Medicine by developing continuing education curriculum, and serving as a credentialed instructor for their potential and current trainers.
Cody is a self-proclaimed “motivator” and he takes great pride in training and coaching individuals to achieve extraordinary results. A wealth of knowledge and experience allow Cody to achieve results for people from all backgrounds and fitness levels.
Trevor Price M.S., ACE CPT, NASM GFS
Trevor graduated from Fort Hays State University where he received his Bachelors and Masters degree in Exercise Physiology. He holds certification for personal training through the American Council on Exercise.
Trevor has been personal training since 2001 in a variety of different formats. He has experience in training with youth through senior programs, class instruction, one-on-one personal training, endurance training, injury modification training, sports performance and nutritional counseling.
Trevor has worked with clients at every different fitness level. He uses a variety of different fitness and nutrition protocols to help his clients consistently achieve their fitness goal. Trevor uses high-energy motivation coupled with safe training regimens to maximize every second of each training sessions. He specializes in resistance and aerobic training. Trevor services clients in the Kansas City area, including Overland Park and Prairie Village.
Barb Brown,NASM CPT
She is a lifetime athlete and has participated in triathlons and half-marathons along with many other sports. She is dedicated to helping clients live up to their own fitness potential and leading a healthy lifestyle. Barb services clients in the Kansas City area, including Lenexa, Shawnee, Olathe, Overland Park and Prairie Village.
Barb was previously the Executive Director of the Lewis and Clark Research Institute in Leavenworth, Kansas. Prior to that, she was the Director of Girl and Adult Development for Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri for many years.
She is currently very active in the Kansas City community as Chair of the Board of Trustees for Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Vice President of the Board of Front Porch Alliance, and on the Boards of Planet Play and the Women’s Intersport Network (WIN for KC), part of the Kansas City Sports Commission.
Barb earned a BS degree from Iowa State University in Biology and an MBA from the University of Kansas.
Nicole Gerken,NASM CPT/CES/FNS/YES/WFS
Nicole is passionate about health and wellness. She enjoys helping others achieve a healthy lifestyle and believes in the power of fitness, nutrition and preventative care.
Nicole serves as a personal trainer by providing a variety of challenging workouts that can be done at home or a gym environment and are specific to each client’s fitness level. She specializes in pre, during and post pregnancy exercise and 5K, 10K, Half and Full Marathon training. In addition, she serves as a life coach by developing individualized action plans that work toward a specific event, milestone or personal goal, counseling clients who are in a life transition that seek guidance and motivation. Nicole services clients in the Kansas City area, including Shawnee, Piper, Bonner Springs, Edwardsville and Kansas City, Kansas.
